Winter 2008: TECHNICAL REVIEW

The technical review will include a comprehensive review of the existing Zoning Code(Title 17) and other development related codes, including any standards and regulations for subdivision, stormwater, and roadways. This technical review evaluates ordinance content and organization (format and readability).

Spring 2009: PUBLIC REVIEW OF PHASE 1: STREAMLINED ZONING CODE

  • Draft- Streamlined Zoning Code
  • 4/24/09 - 6/8/09: Public Review Period for Streamlined Zoning Code.
  • 4/14/09 - 6:30-8:30pm: Open House at the Mat-Su Community College Cafeteria.
  • 4/21/09 - 6:30-8:30pm: Open House at the Upper Susitna Senior Center.

Summer 2009: PLANNING COMMIISSION AND ASSEMBLY REVIEW OF PHASE 1:STREAMLINED ZONING CODE

The final streamlined zoning code will go to the Planning Commission for a public hearing.

The Planning Commission will review and comment on the streamlined zoning code and forward their recommendation to the Assembly.

The Assembly will hold a public hearing on the streamlined zoning code, review public and Planning Commission comments and consider the streamlined zoning code for adoption.

  • 7/21/09 ( proposed date):  Assembly- Referral of Legislation to Planning Commission
  • 8/3/09 (proposed date):     Planning Commission- Introduction of Legislation
  • 8/17/09 (proposed date):   Planning Commission- Public Hearing
  • Further Assembly dates are yet to be scheduled

Fall 2009: PHASE 2: DRAFT REVISIONS TO THE ZONING CODE

Once the new code format and organization have been accepted, necessary revisions to
the regulations will be drafted.
